Job Title: Midwife Certified Nurse
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Midwife Certified Nurse to join our healthcare team. As a Midwife Certified Nurse, you will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive healthcare services for women throughout their pregnancy, labor, and postpartum period. Your expertise in midwifery, combined with compassionate care, will enable you to promote optimal health outcomes for both mother and baby.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide comprehensive prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care to expectant mothers.
- Conduct routine examinations, including physical assessments, screenings, and diagnostic procedures during pregnancy.
- Monitor the progress of labor, assess fetal wellbeing, and provide guidance and support to women in labor.
- Assist with delivery and provide immediate newborn care.
- Educate patients on various aspects of pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care.
- Foster an environment that empowers women and encourages their active participation in decision-making during childbirth.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and specialists to ensure coordinated care for patients.
- Document patient history, progress, and outcomes accurately and efficiently.
- Stay up to date with the latest evidence-based practices and advances in the field of midwifery.
- Promote a safe and comfortable environment for patients, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Hold a current and valid certification as a Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM).
- Possess an active and unrestricted nursing license.
- Have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree; Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
- Previous experience as a midwife is highly desired.
- In-depth knowledge of prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage and educate patients.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-stress environment, providing compassionate and patient-centered care.
- Proficient in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and other relevant software.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to upholding professional standards and ethical practices.
